With over 20 years of experience in travel and tourism, I’m prepared to create your perfect Detroit tour experience. I began my career as Supervisor of Group Operations in a small travel agency.  I had the privilege of traveling the world with hundreds of  corporate incentive travelers.  Several years and a lot of frequent flier miles later I was recruited by General Motors to develop a public tour program, Tour Ren Cen, for the GM Renaissance Center.  I assumed if I could lead large groups of people around the world, I could guide a handful of visitors in a building.  I quickly learned I had my work cut out for me!  Despite the challenge and sheer magnitude of the building, I was able to build a successful tour program.

After leaving the GM Renaissance Center during the Great Recession, I transitioned into the nonprofit world of Community Development.  My role as Project Coordinator for the Villages of Detroit Community Development Corporation (VCDC) added a new dimension to my career.  I found the work to be extremely rewarding and I truly felt like my efforts made a difference in the community.

As much as I enjoyed my work in community development, I really missed touring and welcoming visitors to Detroit. Life works in mysterious ways.  In 2010, a colleague of mine from the Renaissance Center asked me if I would be interested in starting a Detroit City Tour business with her.  She had an idea to provide city tours in deluxe touring vans.  It didn’t take me long to be all in!  We provided two public Detroit Highlight Tours a day, seven days a week for years.  My experience and skill set allowed me to move quickly into my new role as a Detroit tour guide.  I was born and raised in Detroit and it felt right to share my passion for the city with visitors.
